History and culture despite all.
Poland's history is not a nice one but the Poles always resisted. Their culture has a
strong identity: music - Chopin naturally, but also Szymanowski and Penderecki -, litterature - Potocki and his wonderful "The Manuscript Found in Saragossa"
- and hundreds of monuments of great interest (churches, palaces, etc.). For Catholics, it is the country of Pope John Paul II. Some people denigrate
Warszawa, but I was really impressed by the way Poles rebuilt the heart of their capital.
